Silent Hunter IV: Underway
Exciting news for SH3 fans, Ubisoft has begun planning
work on Silent Hunter IV. The new development team
has been assembled, returning many of the SH3 seniors
from programming, graphics, and design, under the
direction of a new producer. The team is currently
in the planning phase with work to begin at once.
Silent Hunter IV will return the series to the Pacific,
with American submarines taking the starring role.
SH4 will use the same game engine and dynamic campaign
as SH3 with some improvements.
Silent
Hunter 3 Wins an Award!
SimHQ have recently awarded
Silent Hunter III an award for 'best commercially
available naval sim' for 2005, which is rather nice
of them. They say "The Naval Combat genre
isn't a large one, but despite its StarForce woes
Silent Hunter III was a solid title that has with
its high quality graphics, innovative features and
game play have set a very high standard for naval
simulations."
Best
Simulation Game of the Year!
It
is traditional as the year closes for the game sites
to announce their Game of the Year awards and this
year looks very promising for Silent Hunter III.
With no less than 3 awards already, it looks like
the devs from Ubisoft's Bucharest Studio will spend
a very nice Christmas.
